WE DESIGN FOR NATURE, WITH NATURE FIRST

At the heart of our footpath designs is a profound respect for nature. We prioritize giving nature the first role, ensuring that our projects harmonize with the natural environment. By placing the ecosystem first, we create pathways that allow water to run its course and living organisms to move freely, ensuring that the natural biodiversity of the areas we cherish can thrive.

DESIGNED FOR ALL TERRAIN

We pride ourselves in offering durable footpath and observation platform solutions for challenging terrain such as geothermal areas, lava fields, sensitive moss covered terrain and ancient archaeological sites.

NATURE PROTECTION

Nowhere does the trails interfere with nature growing and water flow. The water freely runs down the slopes and on the flatland. Moorland, streams and lagoons remain undisturbed as well a. The trails do not affect the water flow during rain or in swelling of rivers. The vegetation grows in peace while the guests are protected from wetness and dangers.

An Area is squashed by visitors’ steps.

2018

After installing Hovering Trails, the old path disappeared under nature and the squashed area is now thriving with geothermal activity.

REVERSIBLE SYSTEM

Sustainability is at the core of our design philosophy. We construct footpaths with materials that ensure long endurance and a long lifespan, yet are completely reversible. This means that while our paths are built to last, they can be adapted and/or moved in a growing project without leaving any trace, embodying the principles of sustainable design and minimizing our ecological footprint.

The Hovering Trail was installed in 2019 and allowed revealing but easy access to geothermal site in the South of Iceland.

2019

In 2021 due to changing geothermal activities, and in order to add an observation platform, the path was relocated. After the adjustment and new installation, nature around is untouched and thriving.

PROJECT GALLERY

The Hovering Trails, installed in 2019 with support from the Icelandic Tourist Destination Protection Fund, transformed the site into a fascinating destination featuring geothermal activity and sensitive moss and lava fields. The initial 100-meter trail, complete with information panels and guardrails, was a success. Pleased landowners extended the trails and added observation platforms in 2020. We are proud to have turned a once-dangerous area prone to accidents into a safe path system, offering a unique experience of the geothermal landscape.
