HVERADALIR
HOVERING TRAILS are particularly interesting in an environment with lava fields, thermal areas or swamps, in places where conditions are difficult and where the demand for a real possibility of reversibility is actual. That‘s why we selected a site for the prototype where these conditions existed.
The installation of the first prototype proved very successful and a grant was obtained from The Tourist Site Protection Fund in 2019 to continue with the project and lay a 100 m long path up into the valley. The land owners and The Tourist Site Protection Fund were very happy with the result and another grant was obtained in 2020 to install „hovering“ platforms and 6 inset information boards (signs).
Where there used to be a dangerous area and accidents where quite regular, there is now a safe path system where from it is possible to have an unique experience of the geothermal area.
